Individuals lose significant money due to Medicare fraud, errors and abuse. Senior Medicare Patrol program (SMP) is a federal program providing information needed to PROTECT you from Medicare fraud, errors or abuse; DETECT potential fraud, errors, or abuse; and REPORT your concerns. The mission of the SMP program is to empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse through outreach, counseling and education.
The goal of this seminar is to provide a foundation of knowledge in three main content areas: the SMP Program, Medicare Basics, and Medicare Fraud and Abuse. Kisha Hull from the Agency on Aging of South Central CT will give an overview of Medicare and the Senior Medicare Program.
Program is free but pre-registration is required.
