Oil painting
Course begins with the basics to include the use of different size brushes, palette knife, wood palette, oil paints, solvents, cleaning methods, canvas preparation, still life, props etc. Classes will include painting, composition, reading color wheel and oil sketching. Emphasis on creating forms, shadows and sketching with palette knife techniques. Students will be given a weekly work book assignments to practice oil painting.

All students will receive one-on-one instruction and critic evaluations of their work during class period. Before each session the instructor will allow students to review and critique their lesson plan of the day. Student will be encouraged to buy their own supplies and table easels for working at home. Instructor will provide and demonstrate additional samples needed as well as a 20 page illustrated work-book “Oil painting for Beginners.” Limited to 8 students.

Time:  1:00-4:00pm
Fee:  $119 for members and $129 for non members
