Building Up S.T.E.A.M. Using LEGO® DUPLO®
Grades K–1 | Ages 5–6
It’s never too early to begin learning the engineering design process! In this program, children will work both independently and cooperatively while exploring simple machines using LEGO® DUPLO® early childhood materials.
Each day, participants will be introduced to 2–3 motion-based building projects, along with additional challenge activities designed for all skill levels.
Participants will also complete lab sheets that highlight what they build. These sheets will be sent home so children can share their projects with family and continue learning beyond the program.
Sample Projects May Include
- Wedge launchers
- Scissor lifts
- Drumming machines
S.T.E.A.M. Works Using LEGO®
Grades 2–5 | Ages 7–9
It’s time to explore the engineering design process through hands-on building and problem solving! Participants will use standard LEGO® materials to tackle engineering challenges involving:
- Structures
- Levers
- Gears
- Pulleys
- Other elements of simple machines
Each day, children will complete 2–3 building projects with additional challenge activities available to accommodate all skill levels.
Participants will also receive lab sheets to bring home, allowing them to share their creations with family and continue the learning process outside of the program.
