Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations! Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".A vegetarian option will be available for those with religious or dietary restrictions with advance notice. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org. We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch. +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".A vegetarian option will be available for those with religious or dietary restrictions with advance notice. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org. We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch. +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option. *Introduction to Oil Painting - *Introduction to Oil Painting Course begins with the basics to include the use of different size brushes, palette knife, wood palette, oil paints, solvents, cleaning methods, canvas preparation, still life, props etc. Classes will include painting, composition, reading color wheel and oil sketching. Emphasis on creating forms, shadows and sketching with palette knife techniques. Students will be given a weekly work book assignments to practice oil painting. All students will receive one-on-one instruction and critic evaluations of their work during class period. Before each session the instructor will allow students to review and critique their lesson plan of the day. Student will be encouraged to buy their own supplies and table easels for working at home. Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations! Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".A vegetarian option will be available for those with religious or dietary restrictions with advance notice. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org. We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch. +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option. Please alert staff when checking in for lunch +HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF OUR LUNCH VOLUNTEERS who have mastered a smooth transition from disposable products to our current upgraded serving system. Clearing, scraping and stacking our "real" lunch plates, cups and utensils is a tremendous amount of work. You are truly apprieciated. Cost for lunch: $5.00 for Rocky Hill residents and $10.00 for non-residents. Being a member of the Senior Center does not reduce the fee.Our daily senior meal is subsidized by the Town of Rocky Hill and the fees we collect do not cover the expense of the program. *Introduction to Oil Painting - *Introduction to Oil Painting Course begins with the basics to include the use of different size brushes, palette knife, wood palette, oil paints, solvents, cleaning methods, canvas preparation, still life, props etc. Classes will include painting, composition, reading color wheel and oil sketching. Emphasis on creating forms, shadows and sketching with palette knife techniques. Students will be given a weekly work book assignments to practice oil painting. All students will receive one-on-one instruction and critic evaluations of their work during class period. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".A vegetarian option will be available for those with religious or dietary restrictions with advance notice. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org. We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch. +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option. Please alert staff when checking in for lunch +HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF OUR LUNCH VOLUNTEERS who have mastered a smooth transition from disposable products to our current upgraded serving system. Clearing, scraping and stacking our "real" lunch plates, cups and utensils is a tremendous amount of work. You are truly apprieciated. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".A vegetarian option will be available for those with religious or dietary restrictions with advance notice. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org. We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch. +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option. *Introduction to Oil Painting - *Introduction to Oil Painting Course begins with the basics to include the use of different size brushes, palette knife, wood palette, oil paints, solvents, cleaning methods, canvas preparation, still life, props etc. Classes will include painting, composition, reading color wheel and oil sketching. Emphasis on creating forms, shadows and sketching with palette knife techniques. Students will be given a weekly work book assignments to practice oil painting. All students will receive one-on-one instruction and critic evaluations of their work during class period. Before each session the instructor will allow students to review and critique their lesson plan of the day. Student will be encouraged to buy their own supplies and table easels for working at home. BWORKZ - Bollywood Inspired Dance Workout - BWORKZ - Bollywood Inspired Dance Workout - Fall BWORKZ’s (Bollywood Inspired Dance Workout) mission is to bring Bollywood dance as a low to high intensity cardio activity and performance to people. It integrates 40+ dance basics (Indian folk and Bollywood styles) developed by AnupamZ to create an easy-to-follow workout program for adults. This one-hour cardio workout ranging from low impact to high impact is choreographed to be a great stress buster with its soul-touching Indian dance music! *Lunch Program - *Lunch Program - October The Senior Center is serving a hot lunch for seniors age 55 years and up Monday to Friday from 12:00-12:30pm. Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations! Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".A vegetarian option will be available for those with religious or dietary restrictions with advance notice. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org. We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch. +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option. Please alert staff when checking in for lunch +HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF OUR LUNCH VOLUNTEERS who have mastered a smooth transition from disposable products to our current upgraded serving system. Clearing, scraping and stacking our "real" lunch plates, cups and utensils is a tremendous amount of work. You are truly apprieciated. Cost for lunch: $5.00 for Rocky Hill residents and $10.00 for non-residents. Being a member of the Senior Center does not reduce the fee.Our daily senior meal is subsidized by the Town of Rocky Hill and the fees we collect do not cover the expense of the program. If you are able to contribute more for your own lunch or would like to donate towards a wonderful cause, please feel free to give any amount. Your generosity is appreciated.
