Tai Chi is a relaxing exercise comprised of a series of slow movements that give a sense of balance, clarity and relaxation.  Tai Chi helps to relax the body and mind, improves flexibility, and helps regulate the breath to create more vitality.  It is practiced in many countries as a daily exercise and relaxation regimen.  An 8 movement Qigong set is also taught along with the 24 form.  Focus will be on shifting the weight between steps and coordination of movements.  A short standing meditation will be offered at the end of each class if time permits.Continuing students:  Two sessions offered on Mondays--May 2-June 20 (no class 5/9 and 30) and June 27-August 8 (no class 7/4)New/Continuing students:  Two sessions offered on Tuesdays--May 3-June 7 and June 14-July 26 (no class 7/5)Both classes meet from 1:00-2:00pm and the fee is $36 members and $42 non-members.Instructor:  Cynthia Hoag

Superheroes: Saving Planet Earth! (ages 5-12) Superhero girls and boys soar off on a top-secret mission to save planet Earth using the most important superpower of all: imagination! Like Powerpuffs and Spider Boys, we'll design our own superhero masks, shields, and capes to protect our secret identities, and even build superhero sidekicks to accompany us as we save the world. During these fun and resourceful art experiences, Super Art Heroes create a variety of AMAZING and original works of art using natural, recycled and unconventional art forms and techniques. Paint canvas tote bags, construct your own super-vehicles, and make superhero stained glass! Paint a rocketship, create yarn art on jars, and draw superhero self-portraits. Color ceramic superhero banks, build secret comic book boxes, and explore the art of printmaking while designing bubble wrap t-shirts. Both girls and boys will have a blast as members of the League of Super Art Heroes, saving the Earth with exciting and environmentally-conscious masterpieces.

Skyhawks Sports Academy provides sports programs where children discover and develop athletic skills and social values, such as teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. We offer children a positive sports experience while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.All the camps are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun.  Our games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. The Skyhawks staff is trained to handle the specific needs of young athletes. For girls in grades 1-4 Little Layups – Junior Basketball Clinics (Girls in grades 1-4) Long-time Rocky Hill Basketball Coach, Brian Silkowski, is offering this educational and FUN basketball program for young girls currently residing in Rocky Hill. Coach Silkowski has been a coach with Travel Basketball and the Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball League for nine years. He has also coached AAU for the last five. This program will provide a fun environment where young girls can continue to reinforce their understanding of the rules and practice fundamentals of basketball. Our ultimate goal is to help increase interest in the sport at a younger age. This will be accomplished by teaching kids the basics of the game and providing a structured environment for them to learn and practice with their peers and future teammates! This program is recommended for girls who have already taken part in Little Layups or who have some experience with the basics of the sport (e.g. dribbling, passing, etc.). Depending on CDC and State guidelines at the time, participants may be expected to wear a mask during the entire program. Mask breaks would be provided. Gear to bring: Appropriate clothing, water bottle, sneakers, mask, and basketball (received at first clinic for new participants)

Lavender Paint Party:  Thursday, May 19, 1:30-3:30pm.  Come celebrate spring with a fun paint party!  In this step by step paint class we will create a beautiful painting of lavender in a field.  We will use acrylic paints to create a stormy sky just after a rain shower.  We will then use various shades of green to create a field of spring grass and add some freshly bloomed lavender to finish it off.Fireflies Paint Party:  Thursday, June 16, 1:30-3:30pm.  Capture the beauty of summer with a painting of fireflies in the summer sky.  We will use acrylic paints to create a whimsical background swirling with light and a rolling meadow filled with magical flowers.  This painting is sure to spark your imagination.Cost:  $12 for members, $15 for non members

Tai Chi is a relaxing exercise comprised of a series of slow movements that give a sense of balance, clarity and relaxation.  Tai Chi helps to relax the body and mind, improves flexibility, and helps regulate the breath to create more vitality.  It is practiced in many countries as a daily exercise and relaxation regimen.  An 8 movement Qigong set is also taught along with the 24 form.  Focus will be on shifting the weight between steps and coordination of movements.  A short standing meditation will be offered at the end of each class if time permits.Continuing students:  Two sessions offered on Mondays--May 2-June 20 (no class 5/9 and 30) and June 27-August 8 (no class 7/4)New/Continuing students:  Two sessions offered on Tuesdays--May 3-June 7 and June 14-July 26 (no class 7/5)Both classes meet from 1:00-2:00pm and the fee is $36 members and $42 non-members.Instructor:  Cynthia Hoag

The Rocky Hill Sea Lions Swim Team is a competitive recreational team for ages 6-18.  Participating in swim team promotes individual ability and team camaraderie. Swimmers are divided by age and ability in the pool. Practices take place at Rocky Hill High School Pool, 50 Chapin Avenue. Attending a minimum of 3 practices/week is recommended.  Practice Times for Spring/Summer Season:May 23rd - June 17th: 5:00-6:30pmJune 20th - August 5th: 4:15-5:45pmFinal practice date is subject to change based on what date for which League Championships get scheduled!Practice will not be held on May 30, July 4th, or July 5th!Minimum requirements:  Must be able to swim 1 length of the pool (75') without stopping and dive into deep water.  Swim team does not teach you how to swim.  Swimmer must know the basics of the front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke to be able to join the team.Swimmers that cannot meet the minimum requirement listed above will be removed from the program for their own safety. The Rocky Hill Sea Lions Swim Team is a competitive recreational team for ages 6-18.  Participating in swim team promotes individual ability and team camaraderie. Swimmers are divided by age and ability in the pool. Practices take place at Rocky Hill High School Pool, 50 Chapin Avenue. Attending a minimum of 3 practices/week is recommended.  Practice Times for Spring/Summer Season:May 23rd - June 17th: 5:00-6:30pmJune 20th - August 5th: 4:15-5:45pmFinal practice date is subject to change based on what date for which League Championships get scheduled!Practice will not be held on May 30, July 4th, or July 5th!Minimum requirements:  Must be able to swim 1 length of the pool (75') without stopping and dive into deep water.  Swim team does not teach you how to swim.  Swimmer must know the basics of the front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke to be able to join the team.Swimmers that cannot meet the minimum requirement listed above will be removed from the program for their own safety. During these fun and resourceful art experiences, Super Art Heroes create a variety of AMAZING and original works of art using natural, recycled and unconventional art forms and techniques. Paint canvas tote bags, construct your own super-vehicles, and make superhero stained glass! Paint a rocketship, create yarn art on jars, and draw superhero self-portraits. For girls in grades 1-4 Little Layups – Junior Basketball Clinics (Girls in grades 1-4) Long-time Rocky Hill Basketball Coach, Brian Silkowski, is offering this educational and FUN basketball program for young girls currently residing in Rocky Hill. Coach Silkowski has been a coach with Travel Basketball and the Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball League for nine years. He has also coached AAU for the last five. This program will provide a fun environment where young girls can continue to reinforce their understanding of the rules and practice fundamentals of basketball. Our ultimate goal is to help increase interest in the sport at a younger age. This will be accomplished by teaching kids the basics of the game and providing a structured environment for them to learn and practice with their peers and future teammates! This program is recommended for girls who have already taken part in Little Layups or who have some experience with the basics of the sport (e.g. dribbling, passing, etc.). Depending on CDC and State guidelines at the time, participants may be expected to wear a mask during the entire program. Mask breaks would be provided. Gear to bring: Appropriate clothing, water bottle, sneakers, mask, and basketball (received at first clinic for new participants)

The Rocky Hill Sea Lions Swim Team is a competitive recreational team for ages 6-18.  Participating in swim team promotes individual ability and team camaraderie. Swimmers are divided by age and ability in the pool. Practices take place at Rocky Hill High School Pool, 50 Chapin Avenue. Attending a minimum of 3 practices/week is recommended.  Practice Times for Spring/Summer Season:May 23rd - June 17th: 5:00-6:30pmJune 20th - August 5th: 4:15-5:45pmFinal practice date is subject to change based on what date for which League Championships get scheduled!Practice will not be held on May 30, July 4th, or July 5th!Minimum requirements:  Must be able to swim 1 length of the pool (75') without stopping and dive into deep water.  Swim team does not teach you how to swim.  Swimmer must know the basics of the front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke to be able to join the team.Swimmers that cannot meet the minimum requirement listed above will be removed from the program for their own safety. The Rocky Hill Sea Lions Swim Team is a competitive recreational team for ages 6-18.  Participating in swim team promotes individual ability and team camaraderie. Swimmers are divided by age and ability in the pool. Practices take place at Rocky Hill High School Pool, 50 Chapin Avenue. Attending a minimum of 3 practices/week is recommended.  Practice Times for Spring/Summer Season:May 23rd - June 17th: 5:00-6:30pmJune 20th - August 5th: 4:15-5:45pmFinal practice date is subject to change based on what date for which League Championships get scheduled!Practice will not be held on May 30, July 4th, or July 5th!Minimum requirements:  Must be able to swim 1 length of the pool (75') without stopping and dive into deep water.  Swim team does not teach you how to swim.  Swimmer must know the basics of the front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke to be able to join the team.Swimmers that cannot meet the minimum requirement listed above will be removed from the program for their own safety. Introducing our latest collaboration, the "Jr. Terriers Powered by Rocky Hill Parks & Recreation." We have partnered with the Rocky Hill High School Terriers Athletics to create a one-of-a-kind sport specific experience for a wide variety of ages.  Each sport specific offering will be facilitated by the Rocky Hill High School Varsity Coaches/ Staff and some of their athletes- designed to give our participants the opportunity to learn from our very talented athletes and coaching staff!   Registration AVAILABLE Starting Wednesday, March 23 (See Below):

The Rocky Hill Sea Lions Swim Team is a competitive recreational team for ages 6-18.  Participating in swim team promotes individual ability and team camaraderie. Swimmers are divided by age and ability in the pool. Practices take place at Rocky Hill High School Pool, 50 Chapin Avenue. Attending a minimum of 3 practices/week is recommended.  Practice Times for Spring/Summer Season:May 23rd - June 17th: 5:00-6:30pmJune 20th - August 5th: 4:15-5:45pmFinal practice date is subject to change based on what date for which League Championships get scheduled!Practice will not be held on May 30, July 4th, or July 5th!Minimum requirements:  Must be able to swim 1 length of the pool (75') without stopping and dive into deep water.  Swim team does not teach you how to swim.  Swimmer must know the basics of the front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke to be able to join the team.Swimmers that cannot meet the minimum requirement listed above will be removed from the program for their own safety. Looking to become more fit or stay active?  Want to work out at a pace that works for you?  If you enjoy great music and international rhythms, you will love Zumba Gold! This class is designed for active older adults or those looking for a low impact workout.  It's a dance fitness class that exercises your brain and body.  No dance experience is required.  Required:  Athletic sneakers with a rubber sole.  Recommended:  Dress in comfortable clothes, and bring a water bottle and sweat towel.  Class meets Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:15am in the Exercise/Dance Studio.Instructor:  Karen Chorney

Lavender Paint Party:  Thursday, May 19, 1:30-3:30pm.  Come celebrate spring with a fun paint party!  In this step by step paint class we will create a beautiful painting of lavender in a field.  We will use acrylic paints to create a stormy sky just after a rain shower.  We will then use various shades of green to create a field of spring grass and add some freshly bloomed lavender to finish it off.Fireflies Paint Party:  Thursday, June 16, 1:30-3:30pm.  Capture the beauty of summer with a painting of fireflies in the summer sky.  We will use acrylic paints to create a whimsical background swirling with light and a rolling meadow filled with magical flowers.  This painting is sure to spark your imagination.Cost:  $12 for members, $15 for non members
