Practice: Every team practices 1 hour per week. Day and time depends on team placement. Practice time slots are Monday-Friday between 5:00 and 9:00pm and will start the week of December 1st.
Team Placement: Teams were created with the help of each division's coaches with intentions of making them as balanced as possible. To do this, we held evaluation periods for COACHES to properly evaluate each child's skill levels.
Clinics: A clinic will be held for all players on Saturday, December 6th or Sunday, December 7th (grade-dependent) at Moser School. Clinics will primarily focus on basic skills fundamentals before we kick off the season! David Vasquenza, owner of WINS For Life, will be the Lead Coach/Coordinator for the clinics. Team coaches should plan to attend and will help coordinate skill drills and stations, with direction from Dave. This is a great opportunity for coaches to pick up some new techniques and methods for running more efficient and productive practices!
PARENTS OF 3RD GRADE GIRLS: PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT 3RD GRADE GIRLS WILL NOW BE ATTENDING THE CLINIC ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7TH FROM 9:00-10:30AM. THIS IS CONTRARY TO WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED AND TO OUR BROCHURE. THIS CHANGE WAS MADE TO HELP BALANCE THE NUMBERS IN EACH CLINIC.

Games: Games will be held Saturdays, January 10th - March 7th. There WILL be games on 2/14. No games on 12/27 and 1/3. Each team will play 9 games, plus 1 scrimmage on December 20th. The schedule will be available on our website in December. Games canceled for inclement weather may not be made up.
Coaches: This program runs on the volunteerism of our coaches. No prior basketball experience is needed. We provide you with the tools to learn what kinds of drills to run at practices and how to teach the sport. Coaching is about more than knowing the game. The ability to teach age appropriate athletic skills and the value of a team is equally important as being aware of the needs of the children participating in sports. We accept all coaches that are willing to dedicate just a couple of hours a week to give our youth a fun, safe, and memorable experience. Volunteer coaches are needed for the Dunkers Basketball Clinic for grades 1-2 and the Youth Basketball League for grades 3-8. There is always a need for coaches.
All new and returning coaches should follow the steps found in the Coach's Corner, which can be found by clicking the link below. There will be a mandatory coach's meeting for coaches involved in grades 3-8 on Wednesday, November 12th at 6:00pm. Coaches will notify parents/players of team placement between November 13th and 19th.
To show our appreciation for your willingness to coach, all volunteer coaches will be issued a $120.00 credit on their account at the end of season provided they have completed the season and are in good standing with the Department. All coaches also receive a warm-up jacket.
