Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations! Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show". No refunds will be given. An account credit may be applied for medical reasons.A vegetarian option is available with advanced notice for those with religious or dietary restrictions. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org. We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch and food is not allowed to be taken home. +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option. *Pinochle - *Pinochle PINOCHLE is a bidding, melding and trick playing game using a unique deck of 48 cards consisting of 2 sets of 9-Ace in hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. PINOCHLE is considered good for memory and focus as it requires players to remember card values, track their hand, and strategize their moves. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. The first few weeks of the program will serve as a refresher for those who have not played in a while. *Pinochle - *Pinochle PINOCHLE is a bidding, melding and trick playing game using a unique deck of 48 cards consisting of 2 sets of 9-Ace in hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. PINOCHLE is considered good for memory and focus as it requires players to remember card values, track their hand, and strategize their moves. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. The first few weeks of the program will serve as a refresher for those who have not played in a while. Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations! Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show". No refunds will be given. An account credit may be applied for medical reasons.A vegetarian option is available with advanced notice for those with religious or dietary restrictions. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org. We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch and food is not allowed to be taken home. +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option. Basketball, Dunkers Clinic - Dunkers Basketball - 1st Graders The Dunkers Clinic is the most important basketball program that we offer, as it lays the groundwork for each child's basketball skills as they develop as a player. The clinics focus on the basics; fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Because of the gap in experience from the 1st graders to a majority of the 2nd graders, we find it most beneficial to do the clinics as co-ed clinics split by grade level, rather than gender. Children will eventually get assigned to a team and a coach, as we will use this for short games and grouping.Everyone will get a t-shirt! Coaches are needed! Basketball, Dunkers Clinic - Dunkers Basketball - 2nd Graders The Dunkers Clinic is the most important basketball program that we offer, as it lays the groundwork for each child's basketball skills as they develop as a player. The clinics focus on the basics; fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Because of the gap in experience from the 1st graders to a majority of the 2nd graders, we find it most beneficial to do the clinics as co-ed clinics split by grade level, rather than gender. Children will eventually get assigned to a team and a coach, as we will use this for short games and grouping.Everyone will get a t-shirt! Coaches are needed! Children will really get into character, donning handcrafted pirate hats and swords or fairy tiaras and wings. Create wooden rowboats and set out on a search for buried treasure, then create gem-studded treasure chests to hide the riches! Paint ceramic castle banks and sculpt clay dragons to guard them. Design pirate flags or princess hats. Paint froggy note holders—perhaps they'll turn into prince! Draw silly sea monsters and design enchanting stenciled t-shirts! Pirates and Fairies explore painting, beading, fabric, clay art and more. Humorous stories are included each week, as well as surprises and laughter. Don't miss these fun and fantasy-filled workshops! ART-ventures for Kids: Artist's Passport Travel the World Through ArtKids take an around-the-world culturl adventure. They explore far-off places and learn about the people who lvie there, from the Americas to Polynesia, from the city to the countryside. They experiment with Crayola products, while trying art techniques developed by local artists and artisans. They make different masterpieces each week such as drums, masks, canvases, prints, buses, and more!

*Pinochle - *Pinochle PINOCHLE is a bidding, melding and trick playing game using a unique deck of 48 cards consisting of 2 sets of 9-Ace in hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. PINOCHLE is considered good for memory and focus as it requires players to remember card values, track their hand, and strategize their moves. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. The first few weeks of the program will serve as a refresher for those who have not played in a while. Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show". No refunds will be given. An account credit may be applied for medical reasons.A vegetarian option is available with advanced notice for those with religious or dietary restrictions. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. Basketball, Dunkers Clinic - Dunkers Basketball - 1st Graders The Dunkers Clinic is the most important basketball program that we offer, as it lays the groundwork for each child's basketball skills as they develop as a player. The clinics focus on the basics; fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Because of the gap in experience from the 1st graders to a majority of the 2nd graders, we find it most beneficial to do the clinics as co-ed clinics split by grade level, rather than gender. Children will eventually get assigned to a team and a coach, as we will use this for short games and grouping.Everyone will get a t-shirt! Coaches are needed! Those interested in coaching can apply by clicking on the link below.You may notice that the run times of both Dunkers Clinics are different from what is listed in our Fall brochure. Zumba - Zumba - Saturday Winter Session Get an aerobic workout with a Latin twist!!! Zumba Fitness combines high energy and motivating music with Latin and international rhythms. The moves are easy to follow and there is no dance experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. Bring water and a small towel.Instructor: Amber Saporoso, Zumba Fitness Instructor

*Introduction to Chess - *Introduction to Chess This class will focus on learning the basics of this mind stimulating game. Our instructor Aryan Jangle, a freshman at Rocky Hill High School, has been playing Chess since he was 4 years old. He is eager to teach this exciting game and share his passion and knowledge. He has been to tournaments and won over 25 trophies.Date and time: Saturday, January 25-March 1 (no class 2/15), from 10:00am-12noonFee: $5 for Members and $10 for non members
