The Senior Center is serving a hot lunch for seniors age 55 years and up Monday to Friday from 12:00-12:30pm.  Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations!  Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones.  Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".  No refunds will be given.  An account credit may be applied for medical reasons.A vegetarian option is available with advanced notice for those with religious or dietary restrictions. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below.  To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org.  We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch and food is not allowed to be taken home.     +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option.  Please alert staff when checking in for lunch     +HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF OUR LUNCH VOLUNTEERS who have mastered a smooth transition from disposable products to our current upgraded serving system.  Clearing, scraping and stacking our "real" lunch plates, cups and utensils is a tremendous amount of work.  You are truly appreciated.  Cost for lunch:  $5.00 for Rocky Hill residents and $10.00 for non-residents.  Being a member of the Senior Center does not reduce the fee.Our daily senior meal is subsidized by the Town of Rocky Hill and the fees we collect do not cover the expense of the program.  If you are able to contribute more for your own lunch or would like to donate towards a wonderful cause, please feel free to give any amount.  Your generosity is appreciated.

Learn about the greatest sitcoms of all time!Award-winning author and pop culture historian Martin Gitlin hosts this fun and enlightening presentation based on his book, The Greatest Sitcoms of All Time. He is the only author to actually rank the best of the best, including I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, The Andy Griffith Show, Get Smart, All in the Family, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Cheers, The Golden Girls, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and The Big Bang Theory. PINOCHLE is a bidding, melding and trick playing game using a unique deck of 48 cards consisting of 2 sets of 9-Ace in hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. PINOCHLE is considered good for memory and focus as it requires players to remember card values, track their hand, and strategize their moves. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. The first few weeks of the program will serve as a refresher for those who have not played in a while. This one-hour cardio workout ranging from low impact to high impact is choreographed to be a great stress buster with its soul-touching Indian dance music! Kristin has been practicing yoga since 2008 and teaching since 2017 and believes in teaching people, not poses. PINOCHLE is a bidding, melding and trick playing game using a unique deck of 48 cards consisting of 2 sets of 9-Ace in hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. PINOCHLE is considered good for memory and focus as it requires players to remember card values, track their hand, and strategize their moves. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. The first few weeks of the program will serve as a refresher for those who have not played in a while. The Senior Center is serving a hot lunch for seniors age 55 years and up Monday to Friday from 12:00-12:30pm.  Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations!  Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones.  Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".  No refunds will be given.  An account credit may be applied for medical reasons.A vegetarian option is available with advanced notice for those with religious or dietary restrictions. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below.  To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org.  We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch and food is not allowed to be taken home.     +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option.  Please alert staff when checking in for lunch     +HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF OUR LUNCH VOLUNTEERS who have mastered a smooth transition from disposable products to our current upgraded serving system.  Clearing, scraping and stacking our "real" lunch plates, cups and utensils is a tremendous amount of work.  You are truly appreciated.  Cost for lunch:  $5.00 for Rocky Hill residents and $10.00 for non-residents.  Being a member of the Senior Center does not reduce the fee.Our daily senior meal is subsidized by the Town of Rocky Hill and the fees we collect do not cover the expense of the program.  If you are able to contribute more for your own lunch or would like to donate towards a wonderful cause, please feel free to give any amount.  Your generosity is appreciated.

This is a 60 minute, all levels mat-based yoga class for seniors that will help you calm your mind, strengthen and stretch your body and improve body awareness and balance.  This class is for every body, as it incorporates conscious breathing with slow controlled movements and focused stretching.  There will be opportunities to modify postures throughout and each class will end with a restorative posture and quiet relaxation. Kristin has been practicing yoga since 2008 and teaching since 2017 and believes in teaching people, not poses. The Senior Center is serving a hot lunch for seniors age 55 years and up Monday to Friday from 12:00-12:30pm.  Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations!  Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones.  Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. PINOCHLE is a bidding, melding and trick playing game using a unique deck of 48 cards consisting of 2 sets of 9-Ace in hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. PINOCHLE is considered good for memory and focus as it requires players to remember card values, track their hand, and strategize their moves. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. The first few weeks of the program will serve as a refresher for those who have not played in a while. This is a 60 minute, all levels mat-based yoga class for seniors that will help you calm your mind, strengthen and stretch your body and improve body awareness and balance.  This class is for every body, as it incorporates conscious breathing with slow controlled movements and focused stretching.  There will be opportunities to modify postures throughout and each class will end with a restorative posture and quiet relaxation. Kristin has been practicing yoga since 2008 and teaching since 2017 and believes in teaching people, not poses. The Senior Center is serving a hot lunch for seniors age 55 years and up Monday to Friday from 12:00-12:30pm.  Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations!  Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones.  Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. This class focuses on strengthening the abdominals, glutes, lower back, hips, and legs either as the primary or supportive muscles. We will use mats, body weight and sometimes other equipment. This actively engages cognitive functions like short-term memory and concentration. A general knowledge of the game is preferred. The Senior Center is serving a hot lunch for seniors age 55 years and up Monday to Friday from 12:00-12:30pm.  Mitchell's Restaurant is the caterer and a big thank you to Big Y for their generous dessert donations!  Share your noon time meal with old friends as well as making some new ones.  Reservations with payment must be made at least 3 business days in advance before 10:00am. Cancellations should be called in as early as possible and anyone arriving after 12:30pm is considered a "no show".  No refunds will be given.  An account credit may be applied for medical reasons.A vegetarian option is available with advanced notice for those with religious or dietary restrictions. Menus are available in the Senior Center lobby, in the current issue of The Compass newsletter and below.  To register for lunch please call 860-258-2786, register at the office or sign up online at registrations.rhparkrec.org.  We cannot accommodate walk ins for lunch and food is not allowed to be taken home.     +Low sugar fruit cups are available for diabetics or for those looking for a healthier option.  Please alert staff when checking in for lunch     +HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF OUR LUNCH VOLUNTEERS who have mastered a smooth transition from disposable products to our current upgraded serving system.  Clearing, scraping and stacking our "real" lunch plates, cups and utensils is a tremendous amount of work.  You are truly appreciated.  Cost for lunch:  $5.00 for Rocky Hill residents and $10.00 for non-residents.  Being a member of the Senior Center does not reduce the fee.Our daily senior meal is subsidized by the Town of Rocky Hill and the fees we collect do not cover the expense of the program.  If you are able to contribute more for your own lunch or would like to donate towards a wonderful cause, please feel free to give any amount.  Your generosity is appreciated.
